According to Deputy Minister of Transport Le Manh Hung, the Government of Vietnam and Japan agreed collaborative research project of urban railway route No. 5 in the form of public - private partnership (PPP). There are 3 projects under construction is the third line Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station (total over a billion dollars), line 2 South Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao (19,500 billion) and Cat Linh - Ha Dong (total $ 550 million).
Estimated that in 2016-2017, two elevated railways in Hanoi first (No. 2 and 3) will be completed.
